Job: FSTC Business Analyst

Primary Location: US-Delaware-Wilmington (not in the city)
Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week)

First State Trust Company (“FSTC”) is a Delaware chartered trust company in Wilmington, Delaware.  Since 1982, FSTC has been providing corporate trust, custody, and administration services to trust clients.  We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to join a rapidly growing firm.  This position allows for broad exposure and plenty of opportunities that are not found at larger financial firms.  The FSTC Business Analyst will work with various teams in the organization to create, design or improve various reports that are used internally and externally.  The Business Analyst will work closely with the Operations team to assist in creating efficiency via automation and process improvement.  This position can grow into a role of resident expert for an internal system that is now being embraced and fully utilized. The ideal candidate is someone who can uphold a high service standard and demonstrate appropriate effort and attitude. This position reports to the Vice President, Head of Operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to users on technology systems and applications (Fi-Tek Trust Portal, Business Intelligence, etc.)
  • Create, support and enhance internal business processes
  • Work with stakeholders to understand the business needs
  • Design technology solutions or business processes to solve business problems
  • Aid Operations team as needed with various responsibilities
  • Function in a back-up role for the Operations team when volumes peak
  • Master specific responsibilities to provide ample support when called upon
  • Write user stories (business requirements) for software developers of various systems
  • Create various internal and external reports that are presentation quality
  • Project management duties as needed
  • Testing as needed
  • Add value by streamlining and automating various reports and processes

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business management preferred; other degrees will be considered.
  • Experience in project management or business analysis preferred, with preference given to candidates who also have financial services industry experience.
